BCBSTX TRS, ERS (Health Select), TX A&M, UT system

Okay, this is very specific. If you are impacted, please help!

BCBSTX is denying CGMS coverage for governmental plans. I had this confirmed early in my fight by the government accounts director. This thus impacts the following:

ERS (Employee Retirements System of TX) - Health Select
TRS (Teachers Retirement System)
Texas A&M System
University of Texas System

If you are on any of these plans, the governmental accounts director with BCBSTX is Brian Naiser. His email is [e-mail]. Email Brian and demand coverage. You can point out to him that since BCBSTX is covering CGMS on non-governmental plans, this is discriminatory and you (or your son/daughter etc.) must be covered.

If you are on ERS (Health Select): The Assistant Director of Benefits is Kenneth Hobbs. His email is [e-mail]. Email Kenneth and demand that ERS cover CGMS. You can note the discrepancy above (that BCBSTX is covering CGMS on non-government plans). Give reasons (ie benefits of CGMS, reasons why it is needed) as well.

These people need to keep hearing this!

Hi all,
I am new to this site. I herd about the denials of CGMS. They denied me once. As soon as my Doctor got on the phone with MiniMed they approved me. I have had the pump for about five years. And type 1 diabetes for over 10 years. What a life right! Anyways I know alot of people from Minimed. There Supply Chain is in California which is where I just moved from. Its difficult to get ahold of those people. Thank goodness my Doctors talks to them for me! I don't know what I would do without her. Anyways if anyone knows something new about type 1 diabetes and the pump let me know. Thankyou -
