We just recently got our son's (Calvin) CGM covered by HealthNet. He has been on the Dexcom for about a year and a half, it was costing us $250 per month for the supplies and we paid for the original device out of pocket as well because we wanted him on the CGM when he started kindergarten last year. Through much effort appealing denials we finally prevailed. Both his Pediatrician and his Pediatric Endocrinologist were very helpful and instrumental in getting HealthNet to overturn their denials by writing letters and calling the HealthNet Medical Director about how important it was.
We have a letter if you'd like us to share it with you so others have a template or reference to use.
Calvin is 6 1/2. A1C's have consistently been less than 7.0, most recent was 6.4 (last month).
Good luck and keep up the good work.
PS. Through our involvement with local JDRF in San Diego Calvin and I are doing a presentation at Dexcom this week for their employees as they are based here.
